• MEMORIES FROM 1906
1906 during the colonization's, the white men divided Igbo land into divisions without their consent in other to bring trade nearer to the people and their evi divide and rule having destroyed many empires and kingdoms in Igbo land.
1906 the British colonial masters recognised Nkporo villages as a kingdom and her monarch and appointed Eze INnam Erua from Etitiama throne as the first Imperial Warrant Chief an authority to govern Nkporo north and her Ebirieba south villages till his death from 1906-1942.

Nkporo Monarchial King from 1885 to 1906 and from 1906 January, he became the British Imperial Warrant Chief an authority, to govern 11 villages of Nkporo Ancient Kingdom recognized until his death in 1942.
1912 Nkuma Ali Iyi Age grade of Nkporo were sent from Echi-Ama to assist in dredging igwu river from Nde Ebe Abam to Okpopedi itu the route where Nkporo traders sale their goods including Okocha Uka (Okocha Ejionye), Mba Ekpe, Ude Ogbuagu, Arua lgwe, Ete Ojum, and Dick Eke.
1912 The first man to build Zinc house in Nkporo was Erunsi Ukwu Onwa Nde Elemchi family at Amurie.
1914 - Nigeria amalgamated and became one nation.
1914 - First World War commenced.
1915 - The first man to build a story building was Okocha Ejionye, "Oji aga Ewu Ulo at Etitiama
1918 Imperial Warrant Chief Eze Nnam Erua Ejiama brought school in Nkporo south at the present Ebirieba (Abiriba) with the sum of 2 pounds five shillings given by Ebirieba people.
1920 Agboezi and Amudu villages in Echi-Ama built first zinc Obi Agbala hall
1921 The second Obiagbala zinc house was built in Amafo village with mud blocks at Echi-Ama.
1921 A passerby mad man threw a big stone at Ogwo Oji tree where many ancestors were resting, as they panic to run out he told them not to run that more stone throwers will soon emerge and from that year developmental challenges began in Nkporo.
1923 Christianity came into Nkporo north led by Awa Okereke at Nde Aghai* Ikwoo compound at Ukwa village. Others are Messrs, Elijah Udeka, Joshua Agwu, Udo Arunsi, with elementary school in 1924.
1924 February, Anya Uka killed one of his twins and was hanged with the efforts of
some Christians.
1926 The great fire disaster that completely destroyed Nde Egwuonwu Royal compound at Echi-Ama
1926 Christian gospel preachers from Nde Agbo were attacked at Amaelu Etitiama where they got bruises and run helter-skelter.
1927 Madam Ojukwu Erunsi bargained with the court messengers and Christians and drove twin mothers from their camps to their husbands while Anyim Oji set hire on the camps at Nde Ukiwo compound at Elughu as the twin mothers regained them lives with their husbands. The same was done at Ebirieba Nkporo three villages by the court messengers and Christians.
1927 Six Christians were jailed for six months each comprising Mba Igwo, Ude Arunsi, Oko, Onu Kama, Onuoha Iro etc. the reason is unclear in research.
1928 Etitiama citizens found approved School through the Imperial Warrant Chief Eze Nnam Erua Akpala who represented Nkporo and Ebirieba Nkporo in Bende from 1906 Jan. to Mission Hill Echi-ama and were assisted through the donations of patriotic individuals including Okocha Uka (Ejionye) Oji aga ewu uluo). Agbai Uka ((Ejionye) Oji manyi ejighi mini). Kalu Egwu Mba "aka" Paul Okoje, Moses Onwuka Uga Anyaogu, Ochu Agha, Iba Olughu and James Agbai Onu each donated 1 shilling and the community completed the amount to two pounds 5 shillings. After Arochukwu had got a school in 1904 Ohafia im 1911, Igbere in 1916 Nkporo south present Abiriba 1918.
1928 Government sent a teacher Mr. Kalu from Ohafia to Nkporo school at Echi-Ama.
1928, Ulu Oja of Ukwa and Mgbo Inya Ejem of Agbaja were the first women to wear gowns in Nkporo, women counterparts sang against them and they were mocked.
1929 Ebi Omère Eru and Anya Uwom Kama were the first people to wear trouser in Nkporo, people sang against them and called them "Ogbooe” in mockery imi ndende
1929 The first divisional officer Frank Hives visited Nkporo at Echi-Ama from Bende and he was carried to and fro in a starchier by age grades.
1929 Madam Iche Akuma a fanatic and other Christian women entered into Eko Kpuru Eko isiji Ukwa village, "Efeghi Ife")
1929 In September "Nde Isii Omume agbala Ukwa" (Chief Priests) village were all arrested and were taken to Bende headquarter and on Afonka day in the said September they were all released by white man to perform their traditional duties in Eko isiji before Eke Ukpo day festival.
1930 Echi-Ama indigenes gave scholarships to their sons and daughters first in Echi-Ama School at Mission Hill.
1930 Mba Ekpe, Ude Ogbuagu, Ezikpe Agu, Nduka etc. were the first Nkporo indigenes who travelled abroad to trade.
1931 Leper patient care was introduced in Etitiama with a visiting doctor from Uzuakoli.
1931 Elughu community suffered akiri akpoha (small pox) en mass and many died in that year.
1932 Etitiama School at Mission hill was relocated to the centre of Nkporo at Etitiama and derived a new name as Etitiama Central School Nkporo.
1932 All Sons and Daughters born in Etitiama were given another Scholarship at Etitiama Central School Nkporo.
1933 The first teacher Nkporo produced was Sir Anya Ude and was called by the pupils - teacher "Mgbenile"
1933 Egwuonwu Uka popularly called Ekong and Okpe Okocha were the first court messengers in Nkporo and Abiriba.
1933 Leper Colony was officially established in Nkporo at Abuosi Ikeogu across parts of Nchara and Orurueka lands to Iroyi Etitiama by Warrant Eze Nnam Erua Akpala administration which attracted many patients from other divisions of Igbo land, the first visiting doctor was Dr. Davy, he visits every Thursday of the week.
1935 Nkporo part completely left Afikpo division where Kama Oji Inem, Eleanya Otusi, Chukwu Azu were employed as court members to Bende Division.
1936 The first Motor main road was built from Etitiama to Ebirieba - Abiriba/Igbere junction.
1937 Nkporo Improvement Union was founded and David Ogbu was the first president and was handed over by the Warrant Eze Nnam Erua who was the last ruler.
1937 Nkporo Ukwu Ato traditional Union comprising Etitiama, Elughu and Ukwa villages ended while other 5 villages were allied and was handed over by the last traditional ruler Eze Nnam Erua Akpala to Nkporo Improvement Union who gave independent to all villages to stand on their own.
1938 Some individuals made themselves government in Nkporo comprising Anyim Oji at Elughu who arrested those that kill twins; others are Ude Uka a councillor, was known by the people as single 'government' in Etitiama
1939 - Second World War began.
1942 Etitiama Central School name was changed to Nkporo Central School after a plea by other Nkporo
1942 The first Imperial Warrant Chief Eze Nnam Erua died, he reigned between 1885-1942 for 57 years
1943 Nkporo morned the Warrant Eze from 1942 - 1944.

1944 A group of Nde Ebirieba in Nkporo south went to Bende headquarter to secure British Warrant Chief authority to their side after the death of Imperial Warrant Eze Nnam Erua in 1942. The British district officer in charge sent them away saying that Nkporo traders in the south are not different natives in Nkporo, the have affinitive with Nkporo Igbo and Ibibios even cannot communicate well with their host Nkporo people, according to official reports in 1944 (See Ububa Igu history 2010)
1944 - June - Bende district officer sent delegates to Nkporo asking Nde Eze Ogo why their seat was vacant at the headquarter (according to official reports)
1944. September Eleanya Otusi succeed Eze Nnam Erua as the second Warrant Chief representing Nkporo and Ebirieba until the exist 1952.
1945 In 11-11 1945 the Second World War ended and the veterans began to returned.
1946 August - the murder of an innocent Edda School boy maka resident at Nde Uda compound resulted in the conviction and subsequent hanging of Egbuta Otuu from Nde Irukwu, Uka Onu from Nde Alike, Anya Ude from Nde Obia Compounds, Ibiam Ogele, Imeri Nwaegwu from Nde Nkefia Royal Compound etc all from Etitima.
1946 Veteran Ogbaja Egwu, Irukwu Otuu, stopped Ogu Agba between Etitiama and Amurie with other veterans, Uche Ükwu Agha, Jonah Ndukwo etc who returned from Second World War.
1946 Godian Religion was established in world history by the crusader Prophet K.O.K Onyiaoha of Ukwa Nkporo
1946- Health Care Centre was built by the government at the Central School.
1947 Jan - Faith Tabernacle Church came to Nkporo at Agbaja from Onitsha.
1947 Peter Ochu Okoronkwo was the first Nkporo merchant who returned on Christmas with bicycle and gramophone.
1947 - Dr Davy, leprosy doctor took two young Etitiama patients Iroha Uka Agu and Egwu Anya to Uzuakoli leprosy welfare home until their retirement.
1947 - Ude Akpala Ejiama emerged as Eze Ogo Echi-Ama.
1947- Solar Eclips. 1948 Chief Lazarus Eze Ebu Kalu succeed Chief David Ogbu Kalu as the second president general Nkporo Improvement Union with J. N. Ogbu (Vice), he ruled for 140 vears till his death in 1987 a period when Ufufie had full control of the.
1948 Roman Catholic Church came to Nkporo from Alayi Parish through Father Jabred and the first convert was James Mba Oji who embraced the church.
1949 The author was born in August at Nde Nkefia Royal Compound.
1951 Teacher Uka Olu Agwu was sent to Achimota Collage in Ghana and to Furabe Collage in Sierra Leone in 1952 on Etitiama scholarship.
1951 January - Etitiama Development Union was formed and the first president
v. was: Nhavi, Ukwu: Ete Ojum,a James. Arua Igwe. He championed human development and was the propeller of free education in Echi-Ama.
1951 Nkporo Improvement Union bought lorry for transportation with a name "Nkporo Daily Service"
1952 - Teacher Uka Olu Agwu went to Furabe College in Sierra Leone under the scholarship of Echi-Ama Community
1952 Etitiama Development Union bought lorry for transportation, under the leadership of Nnanyiukwu, Ete Ojum, James Arua Igive as the first president
1952 January - Native Warrant authority ended and modern representative Government began when people began to select and elect people of their choice.
1953 Teacher Uka Olu Agwu went to John Wesly University in London under Etitiama scholarship
1954 -Nkporo Buffalo people condemned colonial administrations who divided them into two and took away native authority. They boycotted every native count established by the resident Owerri province and D.O of the Bende Division in particular and set up their own count against the neglect of colonial masters. A force of thirteen police men swooped down on Nkporo and arrested twenty-one Chiefs and councillors for running il court.
1955 January 10th Owerri high court banned the illegal court at Nkporo with a fine pounds.
1955 The author was enrolled into Nkporo Central School, and his first teacher, was Sir Kalu Ndukwo.
1956 Barrister U.O. Agwu was the first Nkporo man to obtain a university degree as a Barrister at John Wesley University degree as a Barrister John Wesley University London.
1956 Land was giver for Nkporo water supply by Etitiama Eze 0go Ude Alpad and was opened by Dr. M. 1. Okpara Premier Eastern Region.
1957 Local authority school was introduced in Nkporo clan.
1957 - Teacher Oji Emeri a teacher in the 1940s at Okposi Uwana and Ekoli Edda led other Echi-ama elites to write a petition that removed the leper colony from Nkporo to Uzuakoli in 1958.

1957 - Assemblies of God Church came to Nkporo in Echi-Ama through brother
Oko Kalu from Aba.
1957 Ikpaka Olori disputes between Echi-Ama and Amurie village ended in court
1957 Anti Mgbo Iro Onyukwu was the first woman teacher in Nkporo.
1957 O.A. Ude wrote the first Nkporo history book in 19 pages.
1958 Apostolic Church came to Nkporo in Echi-ama through Elder Sam Eru from Calabar
1958 - Teacher Oji Emeri Oji, Nde Eze Ogo Echi-ama and Church of Scotland Mission (CSM) members jointly wrote a petion and evacuated Roman Catholic church from the present Afia Eke position and were accused of encroachment into other peoples' plots of land, they shifted to Obuofia village and left Ech-ama Nkporo.
1959 On Thursday 15th July an aircraft; helicopter landed in Nkporo at Etitiama community primary school field for the first time.
1959 Eze Nkporo was by tradition legitimately recognised as 2nd class Eze by the
N.C.N.C led by Dr. Michael Okpara the headed Eastern regional government in Nigeria.
1960 Nigeria got her independence.
1961 Okocha Uka (aka Ejionye) the richest man then died on Thursday 24th August.
1961 December 3rd first motor accident inside Nkporo killing Ugo Alugwo an Nde Nko mother.
1962 Amala Nkporo Movement was formed through Chief Peter Ochu Okoronkwo and Veteran Ogbaeja Egwu at Aba.
1962 Onwuka Iroha Oje from Amurie travelled to United States for studies unreturned till.
1963 Dr. U.A Ejionye was the first doctorate degree holder in political science from London University, and was a political adviser to Abia State Governor Ogbonnaya Onu, 1991-1993.

1964 - Barrister U. O. Agwu the first Nkporo lawyer returned from John Wesley University London after 12 years.
1964 January - Etitiama indigene rebuked Ufufie cült and detached many houses belonging the cult members in search of their juju.
1965 Premier of the Eastern Region Dr. M. I. Okpara with Minister Echeme E. Emole visited Nkporo.
1965 - Nigerian/Briafran war loomed much more.
1967 On August 30th Biafran Provincial Administration S. M. Ojukwu and the Divisional Officer (D.O) Mr. Nsikah visited Nkporo for a civil defence fund.
1969 Thursday 19th June Sergeant Okocha Onwuka, Egwu Mba (Nwa amuri okpuru oji, "Onwuatuegwu) saved Nkporo from invasion of mass killings, burning, and assaults from Nigeria soldiers during the civil war.
1970 January Nigerian civil war ended.
1973 Obasi Igwe was the first in Nkporo to obtained first class honor in UNg through free education.
1973 Nkporo Central School was changed to Nkporo Comprehensive Secondary School and work in progress.
1973 Peter Ochu Okoronkwo the first President General of Amala Nkporo
Progressive Union died on April.
1974 4th January Ekwueme Age Grade of Etitiama handed over a three classroom block in Echi-Ama Community School. Completely pulled down for modern event
center.
1974 16th October, Eze Ude Akpala Ejiama died, he ruled for 28 years from 1947 in Echi-Ama.
1975 Nkporo Comprehensive Secondary School was finally built and inaugurated.
1978. Etitiama High School was established.
1979 Barr. U. O. Agwu represented Nkporo in Imo State House of Assembly.
1979 Amurie Technical Secondary Schol was established.
1979-29th December, Etitiama day celebration started in Nkporo.
1981 Elughu Commercial Secondary School was established.
1983 Nkporo had political crisis on Monday Afo 5th September between Etitiama
N.P.N and Amurie N.P.P.
1983 Sunday (Nkwo day) 4th September - a hero and okali mgba, a max man, Peter Ude Ogboya was murdered in his home at Etitiama community.
1983. Kalu Odim Eru became the first Nkporo man to obtain First Class honour in Economics at U.N.N
1984 5th July Nehara land dispute settlement which attracted all personalities
and Nde Eze Nkporo between Okwoko and Nde Nko was settled at Ogwo Oji
sacred land Etitiama.
1988 Imo State Governor Commodore Amadi Ikwuecheghe visited Nkporo to flag off electricity project and commission Nkporo basic hospital built at Uzo-agbaja in
Etitiama.
1990 Saturday 10th March, Oba ndi Elughu was completely burnt down by fire.
1990 Electricity came to Nkporo, sponsored by the Umunna and Onyirimba Age grades of Etitiama and commissioned by the Imo State Governor Amadi Ikwuecheghe under the leadership of H.R.H Eze Ufere Ilum Mba.
1991 Wednesday October 23, buried on 31st December 1991, a great historian and
a philosopher Pa. Kalu Igwe Mba died.
1991-93 Prince Arua Arunsi was the first speaker Abia State House of Assembly.
1997 Nkporo got her second autonomous community (Etitiama Autonomous Community)
1998 April - U.I. Mba became the first Eze Okwo of Etitiama Autonomous Community.
1999 Tuesday 14th September, Ma Egbu Kalu Igwe Nne Onuôha Kalu the author
died and was buried on Friday 29th October
1999 - Prince Arua Arunsi became the first Nkporo man to be appointed as a utilit commissioner in Abia State.
1999 - Hon U. I. Eme became the first Nkporo man to be elected as Chairman
Ohafia LGA Abia State.
2003 - A. E. Congress was formed at Lagos for Amurie and Etitiama for better understandings and more apprehension of brotherhood and sisterhood in relationship.
2003 - Ahanyi Nke Nkporo and prophet of Godian religion world wide, the Ozur Africa Prophet K.O.K Onyioha joined his ancestors.
2003 Nkporo its History and Development Milestones by Devita Agwu Ejem was published.
2004 Obasi Igwe became the first professor in Nkporo U.N.N

2004 On Wednesday 14th April His Excellency Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Eze Igbo Gburugburu, visited Nkporo at the interment ceremony of Madam Jane Ete Ojum Arua Igwe.
2007 Nkporo the History of an igbo City State from Antiquity to the Present by Professor Obasi Igwe was published.
2011 Egbiri Ifegwu is the first Nkporo man to obtain first class honour in law at Lagos Law School.
2011-15 Rt: Hon Ude Oko Chukwu is the 5th speaker Abia State house o
Assembly.
2011-15 Rt. Hon Prince Arua Arunsi represented Ohafia Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Assembly.
2012-2013 Chi-Chi Okpam Mba became the first Nkporo woman to obtain first lass honour in Botany UNILAG.
2014. Friday 31st January Ezinne Hannah Fanny Oko Chukwu was buried which attracts many Governors, Speakers, Senators, House members and many Bishops all over Nigeria to Nkporo.
2015 May 29th - Rt Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu emerged as the first Deputy Governor of Abia State from Nkporo Okwo.
Sir A. A. Iro Enyo of Nkporo Ancient Kingdom joined his ancestors on Monday
28th March 2016. He was Umubia family member of Nkporo and was Akahaba age grade member at Ukwa, born between 1917-1919 and died at a good old age of 99 vears. Before his death he was a teacher "Mgbenile" and a historian ever ready to teach. After his primary education, he attended Ediden Collage Calabar 1941, later taught at Abiriba Central School Amaogudu - 1942-1946.
